Categories

Slalom has four categories:

  • Battle Freestyle Slalom;
  • Classic Freestyle Slalom;
  • Pair Freestyle Slalom;
  • Speed Slalom.

CLASSIC FREESTYLE SLALOM

Also known as Classic, it's one of the categories of Slalom.

Usually divided between:

  • Female or male; and
  • Junior or senior.

Note: depending on the number of participants, there may be more or less age divisions (junior, senior, others).

How it works?

The skater presents a choreography with music at preset time, it is similar to ice skating performances.

Presentation time:

From 1 minute and 45 seconds to 2 minutes.

PAIR FREESTYLE SLALOM

Also known as Pair, it's one of the Slalom categories.

The pair can be of any combination:

  • Mixed or not mixed; and
  • Senior-senior, senior-junior or junior-junior.

How it works?

Skaters perform a choreography with music at a predefined time, also similar to ice skating performances, but there is no gender restriction.

Presentation time:

From 2 minutes and 40 seconds to 3 minutes.

Battle FREESTYLE SLALOM

Also known as Batttle, it's one of the categories of Slalom.

Usually divided between:

  • Female or male; and
  • Junior or senior.

Note: depending on the number of participants, there may be more or less age divisions (junior, senior, others).

How it works?

Skaters compete in eliminatory groups, each individual has two or three passes to present their tricks.

Duration of each pass is 30 seconds.

Speed SLALOM

Also known as Speed, it's one of the categories of Slalom.

Usually divided between:

  • Female or male; and
  • Junior or senior.

Note: depending on the number of participants, there may be more or less age divisions (junior, senior, others).

How it works?

Skaters compete through a line of cones as quickly as possible in ONE FOOT.

Note: there is also a modality of skating called Speed.
